On a hot sunny day at the local skate-park in Nelson, the ‘youths’ were chilin out.
All the cool kids were doing all sorts of tricks and then I heard something from behind that made me stop what I was doing.
I looked over to where the noise was coming from. It was a bulldozer! It was coming straight for the skate-park. We quickly rushed over to it waving our hands and telling it to stop.
“What are u doing?’’ I said.
“Well I'm turning this skate-park into a mall,” said Jake. “Dont ask me, ask the council”,said the old man.
So the boys and the pet pig named Kuni Kuni rushed down to the council.
Half an hour later the youths arrived at the council building all feeling rather wound up about what was going on.
“You speak to them Jake”, said Amon “What do I say?” said Jake
“Just tell them like it is Jake!” “Thats our skate-park and we need it to stay there” “Kuni Kuni needs this park too!” “Where else will he get to practice for the world Kuni Kuni skateboarding competition coming up next month?”
“Go do it Jake” I said
“Auk” said Jake.
Jake smashed his fist on the desk and said. “I want to see the manager of this place!”. The secretary said “You will have to make an appointment”.
So Jake got the earliest appointment he could and the appointment was 1:00pm So they went to Mc Donald's and ordered 3 big mac combos and 1 extra large bowl of chips for Kuni Kuni. While they were waiting for time to go by.
They were halfway though their Big Mac Combos when they realized that it was 1:00pm and time for there meeting with the manager of the council.
So they quickly skated ,scooted and boxed down to the council building.
They got to the building and went up to the receptions desk and she said he was waiting for us in room 2 so she showed us ho to get there.
When we walked into the office I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. There was a photo of Hemi on the desk.
MMmmm..... I thought , thats the kid who got second at the Top of the South Champs last year.
“Nice photo” I said to the councilor.
“Why thank you!”
“Who’s that in the photo over there?” “He looks really familiar!”
“He’s my son Hemi”.
“Well didn't he come 2nd in the Top of the South Champs”.
“Yeah he did. I was very proud of him”.
“Well he could come to our skate-park and practice for this years champs”.
“And probably come 1st”.
“Auk I suppose”.
“Ill just take down Nayland Primary School instead”. “There’s lots of other schools in the region”.
“NO!” screamed Ms Gulbransen smashing through the door.
“Here it goes again” said the councilor.
